Meghan McCain: Your Law
Stinks, Dad
John McCain’s daughter strongly disagrees with her father, and she isn’t being quiet about it.

Arizona Senator John McCain may think the new immigration bill that allows officials to stop and card suspected aliens is a “good tool,” but his daughter strongly disagrees.
In a column for The Daily Beast, Meghan McCain said the bill “is essentially a license to pull someone over for being Hispanic.” This goes against her father’s belief that the new bill can be enacted “without racial profiling.”
There’s nothing like politics to turn family members agianst each other.

In her column, Meghan also blames the media and President Obama for escalating the controversy over the bill and skewing the focus from the real problem.
“With President Obama calling the law ‘misguided’ and the mainstream media painting Arizona out to be a rogue state, all it does is make people go to greater lengths to defend their position,” she writes. “I think unless you are from a border state and have actually seen firsthand the effects illegal immigrants have on your community, I don’t think you can truly appreciate the complexities of the problem and how it should be litigated.”
We wonder what Papa McCain thought of his daughter’s column? We can just see that dinner conversation: “Stop it, Meghan! You’re making me look stupid!” (Huffington Post)
